
Located at the intersection of the ancient Huaihe River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, the city is on the north-south demarcation line of China, and has the fourth largest freshwater lake in China, Hongze Lake. It is one of the main birthplaces of Huaiyang Cuisine, and has been awarded the title of "Gourmet Capital of the World" by UNESCO, as well as one of the birthplaces of the ancient cultures of the Jianghuai Valley.
The "Hundred Miles Gallery" starts from Zhun'an Ship Lock in the east, passes through the Liyun Canal and the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal to Wuhekou, along the Erhe River, the Hongze Lake Dam, the south bank of Hongze Lake, Laozishan Town to Guishan Village.
